On 24 August, 2025, Salwan Public School, Ghaziabad, celebrated a proud moment as the esteemed Principal, Smt. Sunita Madan, secured the Top Spot in Delhi NCR in the prestigious CII Vision Competition on the theme ‘The School I Want in 2030’.

Salwan Innovators earn Top National Honour at NEP@5
Salwan Public School, Rajendra Nagar, takes immense pride in sharing the remarkable achievement of Arnav Chauhan (Class IX) and Riddhimaa Digpaul (Class XII), under the mentorship of Dr. Shilpa Raghuvanshi Chauhan, for their innovation, ColourSyn. This assistive, Arduino-based device enables the visually impaired to identify the colour and weight of socks through an intuitive audio output, blending technology with empathy.
Competing against over 12 lakh submissions nationwide under the School Innovation Council (SIC) framework of the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC) and AICTE, their project emerged in the Top 5 among 46 National Winners. It was showcased at the Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam (ABSS) 2025, held on 29th July 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, commemorating the fifth anniversary of NEP 2020.
ColourSyn gained distinguished recognition as the only project personally visited by the Hon’ble Union Education Minister, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan , a proud milestone for the school. It also received high praise from eminent dignitaries, including Dr. Sukanta Majumdar, Minister of State for Education; Shri Harjot Singh Bains, Education Minister, Punjab; Dr. Abhay Jere, Vice Chairman, AICTE & Chief Innovation Officer, MIC; and Prof. (Dr.) T. G. Sitharam, Chairman, AICTE.
The innovators and their mentor were further invited to the National Innovation Exhibition and Training Program (28th–31st July 2025), the first-ever national training for school innovators. Here, they engaged in expert-led sessions, visited premier incubation centres, and were featured in official video recordings of select innovations.
This national recognition reaffirms Salwan Public School’s steadfast commitment to fostering empathy-driven innovation, hands-on learning, and future-ready skills, empowering students to transform visionary ideas into impactful, real-world solutions.
Visit to National Gallery of Modern Art
Thirty-two enthusiastic Salwanians, alongwith Fine Arts teachers Mr. Arup Kumar Biswas and Mr. Rohit Kamal, from SPS RN visited the National Gallery of Modern Art and the 64th National Exhibition at Lalit Kala Akademi to explore the world of art.
From witnessing iconic masterpieces of modern Indian art, to engaging with over 260 thought-provoking contemporary works, the students immersed themselves in diverse expressions of creativity. The visit not only broadened their artistic horizons but also ignited fresh perspectives, ideas, and inspirations.
It was a day where learning met wonder, and creativity found new wings!
Workshop on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act
Salwan Public School, Rajender Nagar, organised a workshop on the ‘Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act’ for its staff members on Friday, 22 August 2025, led by Mr. Kunal Sharma, a renowned POCSO Act Trainer under the Concept of Living Charitable Trust, Government of India.
Through interactive discussions, real-life case studies, and practical insights, the workshop sensitised teachers and administrative staff about the vital provisions of the POCSO Act. Mr. Sharma strongly emphasised the role of educators as first-line protectors, highlighting vigilance, early identification of risks, and the responsibility of creating a safe school environment.
The session further shed light on reporting mechanisms, preventive strategies, and the importance of empathetic support for children. An engaging Q&A round at the end encouraged staff to clarify doubts and strengthen their understanding of their crucial role in safeguarding children.
Project Dolphin: Young Voices for Dolphin Conservation
Salwan Public School celebrated five years of Project Dolphin, an Indian government initiative launched in 2020 to protect riverine and oceanic dolphins through habitat restoration, research, and community involvement.
Students performed a powerful street play in the bustling lanes of Bada Bazaar, Rajendra Nagar, highlighting concerns such as water pollution and destructive fishing practices. Passers-by paused, listened, and learned about the urgent need to save our national aquatic treasure, the Gangetic Dolphin.
Reflecting on the cause, students of Class VII picked up their brushes for a “Save Our Dolphins” art showcase at school, filling canvases with images of pristine rivers, joyful dolphins, and heartfelt appeals for their protection.
With numbers dwindling, every voice, whether spoken in a marketplace or painted in classrooms, creates ripples of hope for these endangered beings.
STEM District Level Deliberation Achievement
At the STEM District Level Deliberation held at Venkateshwar Global School, Rohini on 02 August 2025, Ms. Vani Ranga, PGT Physics, presented her case paper titled ‘Experiencing Physics through the Lens of STEM’.
In her presentation, Ms. Ranga emphasised innovative, hands-on approaches to learning Physics by integrating it seamlessly with other disciplines. She showcased unique projects, including an elliptical carrom board (a creative blend of Mathematics and Physics) and an interactive lens activity that simplified complex concepts, making them engaging and accessible for learners.
Her paper was highly appreciated by the panel of judges and was adjudged the Second Best Presentation of the event. Adding to the pride, it has also been shortlisted for the Centre of Excellence (CoE).

Mega Tinkering Day 2025! - India’s Biggest Innovation Movement
Salwan Girls’ Senior Secondary School, Rajinder Nagar, actively participated in the Mega Tinkering Day held on Tuesday, 12 August 2025. This nationwide celebration of creativity, innovation, and hands-on learning was organised by the Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog. The event aimed to ignite curiosity, foster scientific thinking, and demonstrate to the world the ‘Power of Innovation’.
