Founder’s Day Celebration 2025

Salwan Boys Sr. Sec. School observed Founder’s Day on Friday, 05 December 2025 to honour the legacy of our Founder Father, Pt. Girdhari Lal Salwan ji, who was not only a visionary but the guiding force behind the group of all Salwan Schools. The day was an expression of sincere respect and gratitude for the ideals he laid down, which continue to guide and strengthen the institution.

The programme began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and devotional bhajans, followed by a peaceful and spiritually enriching Havan Ceremony. The occasion was graced with the presence of Sh. Sushil Dutt Salwan, Chairman, SET, Ms. Mukul Jha, Director Programmes, SET, Shri Anil Kumar, Director, Salwan Boys School, along with PTA members, whose presence made the event more special. Halwa prasad was shared with students and staff, reflecting unity and collective well-being.

The Chairman SET, Mr Sushil Dutt Salwan exhorted the students to follow the spirit of dedication, hard work and sincerity that characterised our Founder Father. He was proud of the fact that our school has grown from a humble beginning into a vibrant centre of learning, nurturing young minds with academic excellence, creativity, discipline and compassion. He extended his appreciation to everyone who has contributed to the growth and success of the school. Finally, he called upon everyone to work together to build a brighter and stronger future for our students.

The celebration served as a heartfelt tribute to “The Invincible Soul”, inspiring everyone to carry forward Pt. Girdhari Lal Salwan ji’s enduring values of humility, service, and excellence.

Hunar Haat Traditional Art Workshop on Madhubani Art Form

An enthusiastic group of 10 students, accompanied by one teacher, participated in the Hunar Haat Traditional Art Workshop on Madhubani Painting on 17th December 2025. It was organised by Salwan Public School, Rajendra Nagar.

The workshop offered hands-on training and was facilitated by Shri Sujit Karn, an eminent Madhubani artist. He guided the students through the finer nuances of sketching, drawing, and colouring, and explained the significance of traditional Madhubani motifs. The interactive session was engaging and culturally enriching, leaving students with a deeper appreciation of India’s rich folk art heritage.

Honouring the Legacy of Shri Shiv Dutt Salwan Ji

Salwan Boys Senior Secondary School observed the Punya Tithi of Shri Shiv Dutt Salwan Ji with deep respect and gratitude. A special morning assembly was conducted, wherein students recited shlokas from the holy Bhagavad Gita and sang a Shabad in his memory. This was followed by offering pushpanjali and lighting candles to pay homage to the great visionary, whose life and values continue to inspire generations.

To mark this day of remembrance, students visited the Geeta Vridha Ashram, an oldage home, in New Rajendra Nagar. They offered fruits and snacks to the elderly residents and spent time interacting with them. The warm smiles and blessings they received made the visit truly meaningful.

Another group of students visited the Gurudwara at Old Rajendra Nagar, where a tree plantation drive was organised. Guided by Hon’ble Trustee, Smt. Indu Khetarpal Ji, students planted saplings as a symbol of growth, service, and the lasting values cherished by Shri Shiv Dutt Salwan Ji.

The day’s activities encouraged students to reflect on his contributions and inspired them to follow the path of compassion, service, and humility.

Founder’s Day

Salwan Girls’ Sr. Sec. School celebrated Founder’s Day on December 5, 2025, with great enthusiasm and commitment to the ideals of excellence envisioned by our Founder Father, Pt. Girdhari Lal Salwan Ji. The programme began with a solemn Hawan Ceremony, setting a serene and reverent tone for the day. In their addresses, Ms. Monika (TGT Hindi) and Ms. Vibha Malik (TGT English) enlightened the students about the significance of Founder’s Day and the institution’s illustrious history and heritage. 

The event culminated with the felicitation of Board Examination Toppers (Batch 2024–2025) for their exceptional performance in the CBSE examinations. School Toppers, Stream Toppers, and Perfect Scorers were honoured with certificates and tokens of appreciation by Col. Krishna Mohan Rai (Retd), School Director, and Ms. Puneet Sardana, the Principal.

Report on the Remembrance Assembly for the Founder Father

Selflessness, courage, visions, and dreams- all these words echoed in the ambience on 4th December 2025, when Salwan Junior School conducted a solemn and meaningful Remembrance Assembly in honour of late Sh. Shiv Dutt Salwan.

The programme commenced with an introduction highlighting his profound teachings, exemplary leadership, and unwavering love for children. His enduring message of “Service Before Self,” which continues to guide the institution’s ethos, was reiterated with reverence.

The assembly progressed with the rendition of the School Prayer, followed by the melodious School Song, both of which resonated with the values he instilled in the school community. A touching video snippet, filmed in the cherished memory of the Bade Saab (as he was fondly called), offered glimpses of his inspiring life and the legacy he so thoughtfully created.

The programme concluded on an emotional note with a heartfelt poem recited by a student, encapsulating the key lessons drawn from his life—humility, dedication, and selfless service. The assembly served as a poignant tribute, reminding all present of the noble ideals that continue to shape the journey of all Salwan schools and Salwanians.

Salwan Montessori School adopts a park for a greener tomorrow.

Salwan Montessori School, Gurugram, paid a tribute to our revered Chairman Emeritus, Late Shri Shiv Dutt Salwan ji, by adopting a park near the school in Sector 5, Gurugram, on 4th December 2025. A visionary leader, who championed sustainability, Shiv Dutt Salwan ji’s belief that learning must coexist harmoniously with nature has ensured that every Salwan campus flourishes as a lush, green and environmentally responsible space.

Through this Park Adoption initiative, the school rejuvenated the space for community well-being and instilled environmental responsibility in young learners. The event was graced by Shri T.R. Adhlakha, President, RWA Sector 5, who appreciated the initiative and encouraged community participation in creating a cleaner, greener neighbourhood.

Founder’s Day Hawan: Invoking Divine Blessings

Salwan Public School, Gurugram observed Founder’s Day with deep reverence and spiritual fervour by organising a Hawan ceremony on 5 December 2025 in the school premises. The solemn occasion was marked as a tribute to the vision and values of the founders, whose ideals continue to guide the institution’s journey of excellence in education.

The Hawan, performed by School Sanskrit teacher, witnessed the presence of the School Principal, teachers, students and alumni, strengthening the bond between past and present members of the school community. Sacred chants and offerings created an atmosphere of serenity and positivity, fostering a sense of unity and gratitude among all present. The ceremony served as a reminder of the school’s rich legacy and its commitment to nurturing not only academic excellence but also moral and spiritual values.

The school Principal, Ms. Rashmi Malik highlighted the importance of remembering and honouring the founders’ vision, emphasising that their ideals of integrity, service, and holistic development remain central to the school’s ethos. Teachers and students actively engaged in the proceedings, reflecting the school’s strong sense of community and shared purpose.

Founder’s Day Celebrations

Salwan Public School, Mayur Vihar celebrated Founder’s Day on 5 December 2025 to honour the noble vision and enduring legacy of Pt. Girdhari Lal Salwan ji. The observance commenced with a spiritually enriching Havan Ceremony attended by PTA members and RWA representatives. Halwa prasad was distributed among students and staff, symbolising unity and community harmony. The celebration served as a meaningful tribute, inspiring the Salwan fraternity to uphold the founder’s values of humility, service, and commitment to educational excellence.

Special Assembly in Honour of Late Shri Shiv Dutt Salwan Ji

Salwan Public School, Mayur Vihar organised a Special Assembly on Thursday, 04 December 2025 to pay tribute to Late Shri Shiv Dutt Salwan, Honourable Chairman Emeritus, Salwan Education Trust. Capt. Richa Sharma Katyal, Principal, highlighted his visionary leadership, integrity, and contribution to value-based education. The Vice Head Girl presented a self-composed poem titled ‘An Ode to a Visionary’, while a staff member recited verses expressing gratitude. The assembly inspired students and staff to uphold his ideals of service, humility, compassion, and excellence.

A Tribute to the Bravehearts of the Nation

Salwan Public School, Rajendra Nagar commemorated its flagship event Samman Diwas on Saturday, 20 December 2025, with deep pride and reverence. An annual initiative of The Salwan Education Trust, Samman Diwas pays tribute to the valour, gallantry and supreme sacrifices of the Indian Armed Forces.

The event was graced by Lt. Gen. Bhavnish Kumar, AVSM, VSM, GOC (Delhi Area), alumnus of the 1984 batch, as the Chief Guest, and Smt. Veditha Reddy, IAS, as the Guest of Honour, in the presence of Trustees, Chairpersons, Managing Committee members, Directors, Principals, alumni, parents, staff and students of Salwan Institutions.

The day began with a Raktdaan Shivir, organised with R & R Hospital, Delhi Cantt and the Armed Forces Transfusion Centre, inaugurated by Lt. Gen. Avinash Das. The camp highlighted the school’s legacy of donating nearly 120 units of blood annually for 27 years.

A traditional welcome to the soldiers, student–soldier interactions, and a soulful rendition of “Vande Mataram” marking 150 years of the national song filled the atmosphere with patriotic fervour. A solemn Wreath Laying Ceremony honoured the martyrs. Shri Sushil Dutt Salwan, Chairman, Salwan Education Trust, reiterated that Samman Diwas, initiated in 2003 by Late Shri Shiv Dutt Salwan, reflects the institution’s enduring reverence for the Armed Forces.

The school felicitated Padma Shri awardees, decorated soldiers from the Rajputana Rifles and Gorkha Regiment, Veer Naris, Outstanding Alumni, Youth Changemakers, and conferred the ‘Smt. S. Randhawa Memorial Distinguished Teacher Award’.

The cultural highlight, “Udgosh: Shaurya ki Kalam Se,” celebrated India’s timeless spirit of heroism, complemented by a patriotic musical presentation by SPS Mayur Vihar. In his address, Lt. Gen. Bhavnish Kumar inspired students to uphold courage and innovation in emerging domains of national defence, while Smt. Veditha Reddy, IAS urged them to strive for excellence and nation-building.

The celebration concluded with Hunar Mela, showcasing traditional crafts, Mahabhoj organised by parents, and a Vote of Thanks by Soumil Rana, Head Boy.

Samman Diwas 2025 stood as a powerful tribute to the nation’s heroes, reaffirming the values of service, sacrifice, patriotism and unity.

Salwan Public School, TDSC observed Founder’s Day with profound reverence, marking the birth anniversary of our visionary founder, Pt. Girdhari Lal Salwan Ji.

The day commenced with a traditional Hawan ceremony, serving as a spiritual renewal of our commitment to the school’s core vision: providing value-based education that balances modern learning with deep-rooted heritage. The chanting of Vedic hymns created an atmosphere of peace, reminding the Salwanian community that our foundation is built on the pillars of integrity and humility. This celebration was not merely a look back at our history, but a pledge to continue the mission of “Service Before Self,” ensuring our students grow into empathetic leaders of tomorrow.

Tribute to Valour – Samman Diwas 2025

Championing the values of discipline and national pride, students of Salwan Public School, TDSC, actively participated in the commemorative Samman Diwas on 20th December 2025. Representing our institution at the SPS Rajendra Nagar campus, 61 students and 4 teachers joined the Salwan Education Trust (SET) in a solemn tribute to the bravery and supreme sacrifices of India’s armed forces. The atmosphere was charged with inspiration, further elevated by the presence of the Chief Guest, Lt. Gen. Bhavnish Kumar, AVSM, VSM (GOC Delhi Area). As an esteemed Salwan alumnus, his presence served as a living testament to the school’s vision—demonstrating that the foundations laid here can lead to the highest levels of national service.

From the solemn Wreath Laying Ceremony to the felicitation of our student, Manjul Raj, the day was a living lesson in character building. The stirring performances and the Blood Donation Camp highlighted the importance of unity and gratitude, reinforcing our vision of nurturing students who are conscious of their duty toward the nation.
