Capt. Richa Sharma Katyal (Retd.) is a visionary education leader with over 35 years of distinguished service. A former officer in the Indian Army’s Education Corps and among the first women officers, she brings exceptional discipline, resilience, and strategic insight to academic leadership.
An award-winning researcher, she received the Best Paper Award for her work on Indian Knowledge Systems and Education in Viksit Bharat, reflecting her commitment to innovation and inclusive learning. She has played a pioneering role in initiatives such as the CBSE Project MATE (2026) in collaboration with AIIMS and serves as a CBSE Master Trainer, empowering educators through impactful training programmes.
Her global engagement includes participation in the International Confederation of Principals Conference in Kenya, enriching her forward-thinking approach to education. Under her leadership, Salwan Public School, Mayur Vihar earned the Outstanding IIRF Education Impact Award (2025).
