Promoting Digital Awareness: Computer Literacy Day 2025

Salwan Boys Senior Secondary School celebrated Computer Literacy Day on 2nd December 2025 with great enthusiasm. The programme aimed to create awareness about the importance of digital skills, cyber safety, and responsible use of technology. Students were encouraged to understand the role of computers in education, future careers, and everyday life.

The main attraction of the day was an Inter-Class Quiz Competition for Classes 6 to 8, where teams participated in MCQ, Buzzer, and Tech Rounds. The quiz helped students enhance their knowledge of computer fundamentals, cyber-security, and emerging technologies.

A speech presentation was also organised, wherein students highlighted the need for computer literacy in the modern world. The celebration successfully promoted safe, ethical, and productive use of digital tools among students.

International Day of Persons with Disabilities

A special assembly was conducted on International Day of Persons with Disabilities on 3rd December 2025 to create awareness and sensitise students about inclusivity and respect for individuals with disabilities.

 Students were shown a video and a PowerPoint presentation explaining the importance of this day and highlighting different types of disabilities. Teachers also introduced the students to basic sign language, helping them understand how communication can be made inclusive.

A podcast related to the theme was shared with the students, followed by a quiz to reinforce their understanding and encourage meaningful reflection. The activities helped students develop empathy and appreciate the need for creating an inclusive environment for all.

Celebrating Christmas with Faith, Festivity, and Compassion

The spirit of Christmas filled our campus with warmth, joy, and festive cheer as the young Salwanians of SMS Gurugram celebrated the festival together on 24th December 2025. The celebration began with the story of the birth of Lord Jesus, inspiring children with values of love, humility, kindness, and gratitude. The little stars captivated everyone with melodious Christmas carols and lively dance performances, while a peaceful prayer reminded of the true essence of Christmas – togetherness and thankfulness. Children enjoyed various programmes such as a magic show, fun-filled games,and a surprise visit from Santa.

A Joy of Giving Drive was organised to enable children understand the importance of sharing and compassion. Students donated clothes and eatables, which were shared with the NGO Slum Care Foundation. The initiative taught the students that the greatest joy of Christmas lies in giving from the heart and bringing happiness to others.

Green Day Celebration in Collaboration with The Green Brigade Foundation

Salwan Montessori School, Gurugram celebrated Green Day in collaboration with The Green Brigade Foundation on 8 December 2025, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability, environmental awareness, and responsible waste management.

The session was conducted by Ms. Himanshi Chawla and Ms. Shweta Raizada, who captivated the young minds through an engaging and interactive storytelling session on cleanliness and environmental responsibility. It conveyed the powerful message of the 3Rs – Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle, making the concept both relatable and memorable for the children.

Adding a strong visual impact, they showcased useful products created from recycled plastic, inspiring students to see waste not as trash, but as a valuable resource when managed wisely. This hands-on demonstration reinforced the idea of sustainable living through everyday actions.

The programme concluded on a meaningful note as children took a pledge to segregate waste and donate plastic separately, promising to practice eco-friendly habits at home and school alike. The event successfully empowered students to become responsible, mindful caretakers of the environment, sowing the seeds for a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future

Christmas & New Year Celebrations

On Wednesday, 24 December, students of Salwan Public School, Mayur Vihar celebrated Christmas and the New Year with enthusiasm and a strong sense of social responsibility. The celebrations included the screening of a film on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, Christmas carols, classroom decorations and a resolution-writing activity for 2026.

As a gesture of community service, students shared cakes and muffins with the MTS staff, fostering compassion and reinforcing the spirit of sharing and gratitude.

National Mathematics Day 2025

The Mathematics Department of SPSMV celebrated National Mathematics Day in honour of Sir Srinivasa Ramanujan’s birth anniversary on 22 December 2025. Students of Classes VI–IX participated in activities including Mental Math Quiz, Mathematics in Art, TechnoMath Digital Presentations, and the Mathematics Modelling Challenge. They showcased creativity, analytical thinking, and technological skills through models, presentations, and artworks exploring symmetry, Fibonacci patterns, and real-life mathematical applications, highlighting the relevance and beauty of mathematics beyond textbooks.

World Meditation Day 2025 – Global Online Meditation Session

SPSMV encouraged students and staff to participate in World Meditation Day by joining a global online meditation session led by Rev. Daaji (Kamlesh D. Patel), the Global Guide of Heartfulness on 21 December 2025. The initiative aimed to promote peace, compassion, and unity through a shared spiritual experience.

Participants registered online and meditated together with individuals across the world, creating a collective atmosphere of love, harmony, and mindfulness.

International Day of Persons with Disabilities Embracing Differences, Celebrating Abilities

To honour the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Salwan Public School organised several activities on 3 December 2025, encouraging students to see the world through diverse lenses and recognise the beauty of inclusion.

Students from classes VI to X participated enthusiastically. Through Poster Making, they painted powerful messages of accessibility, dignity, and respect. At the Wall for Inclusion, students pasted heartfelt pledges – simple promises of kindness, understanding, and peer support.

A hands-on experience came through the One-Hand Buttoning Activity, where students momentarily stepped into the shoes of individuals who navigate everyday motor challenges with courage and resilience. Adding a lively twist to the day were the Frog Jump and Backward Races, fun-filled tasks that promoted teamwork while nurturing sensitivity towards varied physical challenges.

By the end of the celebration, students realised that inclusion is more than a concept. It is a shared responsibility and a collective heartbeat that binds a community together. The observance strengthened our school’s commitment to creating a compassionate, accepting, and truly inclusive environment for every learner.

Christmas Assembly – Values in Action

Salwan Public School, TDSC celebrated the spirit of Christmas through a special assembly that resonated with the school’s vision of nurturing compassionate and responsible citizens. The event was a heartfelt celebration of three core pillars: Kindness, Hope, and Service Before Self.

Vice Principal Mr. Anuj Manchanda addressed the students, encouraging them to carry the light of these values beyond the classroom. The assembly was not just a festive celebration but a meaningful reflection on our duty toward our community.
