Two Class XI students of Salwan Boys Sr. Sec. School, Ankush Singh Rawat and Sanidhya Kumar Dwivedi, along with Eco Club Incharge Ms. Snigdha Singh, participated in Van Mahotsav on 3 July 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan. Organised by the Delhi Government, the event saw participation from schools across the city. Hon’ble Chief Minister Ms. Rekha Gupta urged students to plant a tree under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign. A pledge was taken to protect the environment. The event promoted afforestation and ecological awareness, leaving students inspired to contribute to a greener planet.

Kargil Vijay Diwas, observed on 26th July every year, honors the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering spirit of the Indian Armed Forces during the 1999 Kargil War. This day serves as a reminder of the brave hearts who safeguarded our nation’s borders with immense valor.
At Salwan Montessori School, Kargil Vijay Diwas was celebrated with the aim of instilling a sense of patriotism and respect for our armed forces among our young learners. A special assembly was organised where children presented graceful dances to patriotic songs, filling the atmosphere with pride and emotion.

Green Day 2.0: Nurturing Little Eco-Warriors for a Sustainable Tomorrow
On the vibrant occasion of the 2nd Green Day, Salwan Montessori School reaffirmed its commitment to a greener and more sustainable future on 15th July 2025 through a delightful blend of awareness, action, and creativity.
The Indian Pollution Control Association (IPCA) engaged children and staff with a powerful nukkad natak on waste segregation, sensitising everyone to the importance of responsible waste management. Our little learners expressed their love for nature through a graceful dance performance and a soulful song on SDG 2 – Zero Hunger, emphasising how small steps can make a big difference in saving the planet.
The school was honored to host Ms. Suchitra, a renowned dietician, who spoke on healthy eating and sustainability, and Ms. Nidhi Malhotra, an inspiring environmentalist, who motivated children to become protectors of our planet.
A proud milestone of the event was the installation of a Plastic Waste Management Bin, marking a concrete step in our journey towards becoming a Green School. The celebration left our young learners empowered, mindful, and ready to grow as responsible eco-warriors.

Nelson Mandela International Day 2025 Celebrations
On 18 July 2025, Nelson Mandela International Day was celebrated at the India International Centre, New Delhi, jointly organised by Gandhi Yuva Baradari, the UN Information Centre, and the Working Group on Alternative Strategies. The event honoured Mandela’s legacy of peace, justice, and equality. Key speakers included Mr. Chandramouli Guha (UNIC), H.E. Prof. Anil Sooklal, and Mr. Suhas Borker. Highlights included a vibrant student discussion and a painting exhibition. Ojasvini Sharma (Class 12-G) from SPS RN was awarded for her exceptional contribution. The event closed with a unified call to live Mandela’s values through action.

Vijay Diwas: A Tribute to the Bravehearts
Salwan Public School, Rajender Nagar commemorated Kargil Vijay Diwas in a special assembly organised by the Hindi and Music Departments on 22 July, 2025, in the school amphitheatre. It was a heartfelt tribute to the valour and sacrifice of the Indian Armed Forces.
The assembly began with a solemn prayer, followed by an inspiring poem that paid homage to the courage and dedication of the soldiers. The highlight of the assembly was a powerful theatrical performance based on the life of Captain Vikram Batra, portraying his unwavering spirit and heroism during the Kargil War.
The assembly concluded with a medley of patriotic songs performed by the Music Department, filling the atmosphere with reverence and national pride. It was a moment to remember the sacrifices made by our brave soldiers and inspired all students and staff to honour their legacy through gratitude and service.

Celebrating The Magic of Pi
The Mathematics Department of Salwan Public School, Rajender Nagar celebrated Pi Approximation Day on 21 July 2025 with a special assembly in the School Amphitheatre. The event highlighted the significance of π through creativity and intellect. It featured a Mathematical Prayer, a thought-provoking message, and updates on Pi-related developments. An original poem, ‘Ode to Pi’, and a captivating Pi-themed dance showcased the artistic side of mathematics. The celebration concluded with the felicitation of International Mathematics Olympiad achievers by the Principal and Head of Department. The event left students inspired by the beauty and depth of mathematics, blending logic with creativity.
