Educators were introduced to the three fundamental learning domains: cognitive, affective, and psychomotor, with discussions on how these elements contribute to a holistic learning experience. The session reinforced the importance of clear, structured learning outcomes to ensure meaningful student progress and alignment with academic goals.

This engaging session empowered educators with practical strategies to foster an outcome-driven teaching approach, enhancing the overall learning experience for students.

Webinar on ‘Best Practices for Educators and Learners of Physics’

As part of the Salwan Education Trust’s initiatives, a webinar was conducted for Physics teachers across Salwan schools on 9th January 2025 by Ms. Vani Ranga, HOD Physics at SPS Rajendra Nagar. Ms Vani shared key insights from the ‘JEE Numerical Solving Camp’ attended by her in December 2024, that was held at the Indian National Science Academy (INSA) under the guidance of Padma Shri, Prof. H.C. Verma. The session aimed to provide educators with innovative strategies to make Physics learning more engaging, interactive, and relevant to real-world applications.

The session introduced a series of hands-on activities designed for Classes IX–XII, demonstrating how complex physics concepts can be simplified through experiential learning. One of the key experiments involved measuring the resistance of an incandescent bulb at room temperature using a multimeter and calculating its temperature at full glow. Another engaging activity focused on light and optics, where teachers explored the laws of reflection and refraction and observed the spectrum of white light through a prism. These experiments were conducted using simple, everyday materials such as a mobile torch, paper slit, and cloth clips, eliminating the need for specialized laboratory equipment.

Further, the session delved into mechanics and friction, where participants examined the tension in an oscillating pendulum, a fundamental concept in Class XI Physics. Teachers also explored the direction of frictional forces acting on the front and back wheels of a moving bicycle, enhancing their understanding of real-world physics applications. Another fascinating demonstration involved lifting a bottle cap using heat from the hands, showcasing how temperature changes can influence motion and forces.

The webinar emphasized competency-based learning and encouraged the integration of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) to help students apply experimental findings to problem-solving scenarios. This engaging and insightful session equipped educators with practical tools to transform their teaching methodologies, making Physics more accessible and enjoyable for students.
