Shaurya Khanna Wins Bronze at Delhi State Athletics Championship 2025
Salwan Public School, Rajendra Nagar, takes immense pride in sharing that Shaurya Khanna, student of Class X, has brought laurels to the school by securing a Bronze Medal in the Boys U-18 Discus Throw event at the 3rd Delhi State Athletics Championship 2025, affiliated to Athletics Federation of India. The State Level Championship was held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Delhi, on 28th February and 1st March 2025.
Competing against some of the best young athletes in the state, Shaurya showcased exceptional skill, determination, and perseverance. His remarkable achievement highlights the rigorous training and support provided by the school’s sports faculty.

Earth Day 2025
Salwan Public School observed Earth Day on April 22, 2025, reaffirming its commitment to environmental stewardship, under the theme ‘Our Power, Our Planet’, which calls for global unity in the pursuit of renewable energy.
A wide range of engaging activities were organized to inspire students to take ownership of protecting the environment. The Primary Wing led a special assembly that featured heartfelt speeches by our youngest learners from kindergarten. These young voices passionately emphasised the importance of everyday actions—such as reducing plastic use, planting trees, and conserving water—to protect our planet.
Adding vibrancy to the event, the kindergarten students presented a lively dance performance that symbolically portrayed eco-friendly actions like planting trees, saving water, and minimising waste. The performance delivered a compelling message about environmental care through expressive movement and energy. The budding environmentalists created thoughtful Earth Day slogans and placards, reinforcing the message of sustainability. They enjoyed colouring worksheets and crafting clay models of trees and plants, showcasing their creativity and love for nature.
The Senior Wing conducted a special assembly focused on elephant conservation, aiming to raise awareness about the challenges faced by this endangered species. Students shared powerful reflections on wildlife preservation and the need to protect our biodiversity. A thought-provoking skit by Class VI depicted the threats faced by elephants in the wild and emphasised the urgency of conservation efforts. The performance was both informative and emotionally impactful. The event concluded with a collective pledge, where students promised to take meaningful actions in support of elephant protection and environmental conservation.
At Salwan Public School, Earth Day is a reminder of our shared responsibility to care for the planet. The school continues to promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices through thoughtful education and action-driven initiatives.

Salwan Public School Bids Adieu to Class XII Batch 2024–25
Salwan Public School bid an emotional and grand farewell to the Class XII batch of 2024–25 on April 17, 2025. The celebration was a perfect blend of grace, gratitude, and goodbyes, echoing with laughter, memories, and heartfelt tributes. The event featured vibrant music and dance medleys, a creative conferring of titles, and touching speeches by students and teachers alike, capturing the unique journey of each outgoing Salwanian.
In her inspiring address, Principal Ms. Priyanka Barara urged students to stay true to their values, pursue their dreams relentlessly, and shine in every walk of life. A special felicitation ceremony honoured the Prefectorial Board for their exemplary leadership and dedicated service to the school community. Vice Principal Ms. Jyotsna Grover moved the audience with a soul-stirring poem, encouraging students to become torchbearers of change and compassion.
As emotions ran high, the day culminated with a spirited DJ session—turning tears into laughter and farewells into unforgettable memories. The farewell was not just a goodbye, but a celebration of the bonds forged, lessons learned, and the promise of bright futures. Havan Ceremony to Mark the Beginning of New Session
Marking the beginning of a new academic session with divine blessings, a sacred Havan Ceremony was conducted on April 2, 2025, with great reverence and enthusiasm on the school premises. Student and teacher representatives from each of the classes, along with the members of the Students’ Council, participated in the havan.
The ceremony was attended by Ms. Priyanka Barara, Principal, who emphasised its significance in fostering harmony and positive energy at the onset of the new session. The learned Acharya conducted the Havan with traditional Vedic chants, guiding the young learners through sacred offerings and prayers. The entire school community was engaged, as the IT department successfully facilitated live transmission of the ceremony across all classrooms, allowing students who could not attend it physically to be part of the spiritual experience. The Havan Ceremony instilled a sense of spirituality and cultural enrichment among all attendees, reinforcing the school’s commitment to holistic development deeply rooted in our cultural values. The synchronised efforts of faculty members and students made the event a grand success, and the school looks forward to continuing such traditions that promote moral and cultural values alongside academic excellence.

Social Science Department Organises Heritage Week 2025

The Social Science Department of SPS, RN organised Heritage week from 16 April to 21 April 2025 offering students a vibrant opportunity to discover and celebrate India’s rich cultural, historical, and architectural legacy. A series of thoughtfully planned activities were organised for the week that including interactive workshops, special assemblies, and an educational excursion. Tis help students gain a deeper understanding of their cultural roots and also develop a sense of pride in their heritage.
Day 1: Heritage Quiz (16th April 2025)
Heritage Week began on an enthusiastic note with a Heritage Quiz conducted for Class VII students in the school amphitheatre. The quiz explored India’s ancient visual and performing arts, iconic landmarks, and historical milestones. The event fostered a spirit of healthy competition while igniting students’ curiosity aboutIndia’s cultural legacy. All participants were awarded certificates in recognition of their active participation.Day 2: Heritage Day Special Assembly (17th April 2025)
Class IX students presented a special assembly to mark Heritage Day on 17th April 2025. The event commenced with the Heritage Oath, followed by a talk on the significance of World Heritage Day. Students’ vibrant dance performance showcasing Odisha’s tribal culture and soulful recitations of devotional poetry of great poets like Kabir, Tulsidas, and Meerabai enriched the assembly.Day 3: Madhubani Art Workshop (19th April 2025)
The students of Classes VI to VIII participated in a Madhubani Art Workshop on 19th April 2025, They delved into the intricate patterns and rich cultural heritage of this traditional art form. In preparation for the upcoming “Whispers of Stone” excursion to Qutub Minar, a pre-visit workshop was conducted for Class VI students on 19th April 2025. Organised by History Diaries, the session offered fascinating insights into the historical and architectural significance of Qutub Minar and nearby landmarks such as the Iron Pillar and Alai Darwaza. Through engaging storytelling and interactive activities, the workshop sparked curiosity and enthusiasm, setting the stage for a meaningful and informed field trip.Day 4: Excursion to Qutub Minar (21st April 2025)
The culmination event of Heritage Week was the excursion to Qutub Minar on 21st April, with 131 Class VI students and 5 teachers. Guided by History Diaries, students explored key sites like the Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque, Iron Pillar, Alai Minar, and Qutub Minar. They participated in interactive activities, completed booklets, and enjoyed Nukkad Natak performances to learn about the history of these landmarks. The trip concluded with a quiz to reinforce their knowledge. Heritage Week 2025 provided students with enriching learning experiences, from the Heritage Quiz and Special Assembly to the Madhubani Art Workshop and Qutub Minar excursion. These activities deepened their understanding of India’s cultural heritage, fostering pride and curiosity. Salwan Public School is proud to share the outstanding accomplishments of its Primary Wing students in the International Informatics Olympiad (IIO) 2024–25, conducted by the Silverzone Foundation.
Raahima Nadeem (Class III-B) emerged as the International Topper, earning a Medal of Excellence, a Certificate, and a cash award of ₹3750 for her exemplary performance.
Kanav Walia (Class III-D) was recognised as the State Topper and was awarded a Bronze Medal and Certificate for his achievement.

Salwan Public School organised an Orientation Session for parents of Primary classes I-V, focusing on strengthening the school-parent partnership and empowering parents to support their child’s holistic development. Mrs. Priyanka Barara, Principal, in her address, emphasised the importance of collaboration between parents and the school to facilitate holistic development of their wards. Emphasis was placed on fostering a structured daily routine, cultivating reading habits, promoting effective communication, and utilizing positive reinforcement to enhance a child’s overall growth.
Ms. Rashi Oberoi, Headmistress, provided an overview of the school’s operational structure, policies, and procedures. The session highlighted the significance of parental involvement in the learning process, including regular communication with teachers and participation in Parent-Teacher Meetings. Guidelines were shared on promoting healthy habits, such as limiting screen time and encouraging physical activities. Ms. Shobha Banerjee, Dance teacher, introduced the ASPAC– the After School Performing Arts and Culture programme, designed to nurture students’ creative and artistic talents.

Parent-Toddler Programme
The Montessori Wing of Salwan Public School organised the ‘Parent-Toddler Programme’, a joyous celebration of early learning and bonding, with the aim to empower parents to engage in their toddlers’ early learning experiences.. The event brought together parents, toddlers, and teachers in a nurturing environment that fostered creativity, confidence, and curiosity. Through engaging activities, children explored and discovered alongside their parents, building strong bonds and creating cherished memories. The highlight of the programme was an energising aerobics session wherein children and parents danced together, spreading joy and positivity. Kindergarten graduates added to the excitement by singing ‘It’s a Beautiful Day’, setting the tone for a bright and promising future. The programme marked a significant milestone in the children’s learning journey, celebrating growth, happiness, and the endless possibilities that lie ahead.

Pre-Primary Graduation Day - Batch of 2024-25
A Day to Remember!
The wait came to a starlit finale on 5th March 2025, when the little graduates of Salwan Public School took centre stage for their graduation day titled ‘Dynamic Pulse’—a spectacular sports-cum-graduation day celebration! From showcasing their agility in skating, yoga, aerobics, ball drill, commando drill and flower drill to exuding confidence in their performances, the young learners left everyone in awe.
The grand celebration concluded with a heart-warming graduation ceremony, where the Chief Guest, Dr. Subhash Chander, Assistant Professor, CIE, Principal Priyanka Barara and Headmistress Rashi Oberoi awarded certificates to the proud graduates of the Pre-primary. Parents’ eyes sparkled with pride as they watched their children walk confidently in the graduation walk, marking a beautiful milestone in their early learning journey. A day filled with joy, achievement, and unforgettable memories!
The core message delivered in the address made by the dignitaries was to onus on real life experiences and focus on health and fitness. The efforts made by the school in this area were greatly appreciated.

Visit to Annual Art Showcase at College of Art
Seventeen students from Class XII of Salwan Public School had the enriching opportunity to attend the Annual Painting Exhibition at the College of Art, held on 28th March 2025 in its main gallery. The exhibition was a vibrant celebration of creativity, featuring an impressive display of artworks by budding artists from various disciplines.
From evocative landscapes and expressive portraits to bold abstracts and contemporary pieces, the gallery showcased a rich spectrum of artistic talent. Each artwork reflected the artist’s unique vision, executed with remarkable technique, use of colour, and composition. The immersive atmosphere inspired both the student visitors and the wider audience of teachers, art lovers, and peers.

A special welcome assembly was held to greet the new batch of Class XI students on 8th April 2025 in the school amphitheatre. The event marked the commencement of a new academic chapter, filled with aspirations, enthusiasm, and a renewed commitment to growth and excellence.
The proceedings began with a warm introduction and an engaging quiz conducted by the Student Council, designed to make the new batch of Class XI feel comfortable and connected. This was followed by an inspiring address by the Principal, Ms. Priyanka Barara. In her speech, she highlighted the significance of discipline, focus, and a positive outlook as essential tools for navigating senior secondary education. From Tradition to Expression – Celebrating World Dance Day
Salwan Public School celebrated World Dance Day with great enthusiasm, showcasing India’s vibrant dance heritage. The event began with an elegant classical medley featuring Kathak, Kuchipudi, and Bharatanatyam, wherein students portrayed expressive storytelling through rhythm, grace, and tradition.
The celebrations continued with lively folk dances from Assam, Punjab, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan, each reflecting the unique spirit and culture of its region. Salwan Public School, Rajendra Nagar, organised a workshop on “Exploring Opportunities at WUST: Programs, Admissions & Future Trends,” on April 16, 2025, in collaboration with the Washington University of Science and Technology (WUST). The session offered valuable guidance to students and parents aspiring to pursue higher education in the United States.
The workshop provided an overview of WUST’s career-focused programs in IT, Business, Cybersecurity, and MBA, highlighting how the university bridges academic learning with real-world skills.
