ATL Salwan Boys School Celebrates Community Day – A Festival of Innovation and Creativity
On 05th May 2025, ATL Salwan Boys School successfully hosted Community Day, an initiative under the Atal Tinkering Labs (ATL) program, designed to ignite innovation and creativity among students. The event provided a dynamic platform for young learners to explore emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and design thinking while fostering meaningful engagement with their local communities.
The celebration witnessed enthusiastic participation from Salwan Girls Sr. Sec. School and Swami Dayanand Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya, alongside students from Salwan Boys School. Together, they immersed themselves in hands-on DIY activities, applying design thinking principles to create innovative solutions. The interactive sessions not only enhanced their problem-solving skills but also encouraged collaboration and creativity.
One of the biggest highlights of the event was the 3D printer housed in the ATL Lab. Students observed its functionality with immense curiosity and enthusiasm, exploring its potential applications in real-world scenarios. As a special token of appreciation, each participant received a 3D-printed keychain, a tangible reminder of their exciting experience.
The event concluded on an uplifting note with a beautiful feedback wall, where students shared their thoughts, reflections, and learnings. Their expressions of joy and curiosity reaffirmed the success of the initiative in promoting STEM education and fostering a spirit of innovation.

Creative Expressions through Paper Mache – A Vidyanjali Initiative
On Thursday, 24th April 2025, Salwan Boys Senior Secondary School, Rajendra Nagar, hosted a creative and engaging art and craft workshop under the Vidyanjali programme. This initiative, which connects schools with volunteers to enhance learning outcomes and encourage community participation, featured a special Paper Mache activity led by Ms. Seema Taneja, a volunteer from Pidilite Industries.
The workshop was conducted for students of Classes VII and VIII, with 46 students enthusiastically taking part. Ms. Taneja introduced the students to the traditional art of paper mache, guiding them through the process of creating their own artistic pieces. The learners were excited to explore this new craft form and thoroughly enjoyed the hands-on experience.

Earth Day Celebration at Salwan Boys Sr. Sec. School
On 22 April 2025, Salwan Boys Senior Secondary School marked Earth Day with a special morning assembly organized by the Eco Club. The event aimed to raise awareness about environmental issues and encourage students to become responsible stewards of the planet.
The assembly opened with an inspiring message from the Eco Club in-charge, who emphasized the importance of caring for the Earth and adopting eco-friendly habits.
Students from Classes VI to VIII actively participated in the celebration through a variety of performances. Students of class VIII presented a powerful skit highlighting the role of trees in maintaining ecological balance. This was followed by a heartfelt poem that encouraged everyone to reflect on their duties towards nature.
Students from Class VII delivered compelling speeches on environmental challenges and the importance of conservation.
Students shared interesting facts about the origin of the Earth and how it came into existence.
Adding a traditional touch, Class VI students recited shlokas on Nature with explanations, showcasing how Indian culture has long promoted harmony with nature.
The assembly concluded with an encouraging address by our Science teacher , who suggested simple, everyday actions that students can take to protect the environment and build a sustainable future.

Educational Visit to Rashtrapati Bhavan
On 25 May 2025, 45 students from Class VII and IX of Salwan Boys Senior Secondary School visited Rashtrapati Bhavan located in New Delhi. This visit was part of an educational endeavour to educate the students about India’s rich history and seat of governance.
On arrival, the students were warmly welcomed by the liaison staff and taken on a guided tour of the Rashtrapati Bhavan. The students were shown the grand entrance, Durbar Hall, Ashok Hall, and the Long Drawing Room. The nominated guide explained the importance and relevance of each of these. The students were amazed by the beautiful design, artwork, and historical relevance of the structures.
A special part of the visit was the Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum Complex. Here, the students saw displays related to the past Presidents, the freedom movement, and learnt how Indian democracy has evolved over time. The interactive displays and the rare photographs with their short descriptions made the learning fun and interesting for the students.
This trip was a great opportunity for our students to understand the rich history and heritage of our country.

Inspiring Innovation for a Sustainable Future – NXplorers Celebration at Salwan Boys School
The NXplorers Celebration event was held on Wednesday, 23 April 2025, at the Atal Tinkering Lab of Salwan Boys Senior Secondary School, Delhi. Organized in collaboration with Shell and the Learning Links Foundation (LLF), the event brought together students, educators, and professionals to showcase and support innovative ideas focused on sustainability and STEM-based problem-solving.
The celebration began with a Guard of Honour presented by NCC cadets, setting a respectful and enthusiastic tone for the day. This was followed by Sarasvati Vandana performed by students of Classes VII and VIII.
The event welcomed distinguished guests from Shell’s CSR and Social Performance teams, including Ms. Sreejeeta Datta and Ms. Joyce Sivalingam and Mr. Praveen Rathi, Shell NXplorers in-charge at Salwan Boys School.
Key educators and ATL coordinators from schools across Delhi, Mumbai, and Karnataka also participated, reflecting the wide outreach and collaborative spirit of the NXplorers programme. Notable educational leaders present included Smt. Levelavati Shivaprasad Hiremath, Deputy Director of Public Instruction, Belgaum, Karnataka.
ATL educators such as Ms. Chitra (Brahmavar), Mr. Chetan (Belagavi), Ms. Neha (Salwan Girls School), and Ms. Vandita (Salwan Boys School) attended the celebration, demonstrating a united commitment to hands-on learning and sustainable development.

Legal Literacy Club
On 03 April 2025, Salwan Boys School hosted a Legal Literacy competition organized by the Central District Legal Services Authority under the aegis of NALSA and DSLSA. As part of the Delhi Government’s initiative ‘Samvidhan Ki Pathshala’, launched in collaboration with the Department of Law and Justice and NLU, our students participated in painting, poster-making, essay writing, and a Constitution quiz focused on equality, fundamental rights and duties.
These engaging activities aimed to foster awareness of legal and constitutional values amongst the children. In order to further deepen their understanding of the Constitution, a session was conducted on 05 April 2025 by Shri Tejaswi Goel, Advocate at Tis Hazari Court. The session laid emphasis on “The Indian Constitution – The Supreme Law of India”. During his talk he informed students about writs, rights, and protective laws that empower citizens.
These activities serve as great motivators for students who are keen to take up the legal profession after completing their studies. The students get an opportunity to interact with legal luminaries and clear their doubts. It also helps them in becoming law-abiding citizens of India.

Sacred Beginnings : Igniting the Flame of Knowledge

On 01 April 2025, Salwan Boys School marked the beginning of the new academic session by performing a pious ‘Havan’ on its campus. This was done to mark a soulful start to a new academic journey, and was graced by the presence of students, teachers and staff coming together in devotion and gratitude.
The morning began with melodious bhajans being sung by the students, creating a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere. This was followed by the chanting of ‘shlokas’, echoing sacred vibrations across the school premises. The ‘havan’ aimed to invoke the blessings of the Almighty for a successful and joyful academic year. In the end, prasad was distributed to all with reverence and joy. The ceremony truly reflected the school’s commitment to blending tradition with education.
