Independence Day Celebrations
SBS RN celebrated Independence Day on Friday, 14 August 2026 with patriotic fervour, enthusiasm and a deep sense of pride in the nation.
The programme commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag, followed by the National Anthem. The celebration also paid tribute to the vision and legacy of the school’s Founder Father, Pandit Girdhari Lal Salwan Ji, whose ideals of education, service and nation-building continue to inspire the Salwan fraternity. The school also acknowledged with gratitude the guidance and contribution of the Emeritus Chairman, Salwan Education Trust, whose leadership has strengthened the institution’s commitment to holistic education and character building.
The campus came alive with patriotic spirit as students presented a vibrant cultural programme comprising patriotic songs, dance performances, poems, speeches and an impactful nukkad natak. Through their performances, students highlighted the values of freedom, unity, courage, sacrifice and responsibility towards the nation.
The students’ presentations beautifully conveyed that the freedom enjoyed today is the result of the sacrifices of countless freedom fighters and that the younger generation has the responsibility to build a strong, progressive and compassionate India.
Adding an academic and innovative dimension to the celebration, students also displayed science models and conducted engaging activities, reflecting their creativity, curiosity and scientific temperament.
A special highlight of the programme was the felicitation of the Class X and Class XII toppers of the session 2025-26. The meritorious students were honoured for their outstanding academic achievement, perseverance and dedication. Their success was celebrated as a source of pride and inspiration for the entire school community.
The Manager and Director of the School, Col. Sameer Salooja (Retd.), addressed the gathering and inspired the students to contribute meaningfully to nation-building. He particularly encouraged them to consider joining the Armed Forces and serving the country with courage, discipline, commitment and dedication. His inspiring words motivated the students to develop a spirit of service and responsibility towards the nation.
The celebration concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by the Officiating In-charge, Ms. Ravinderjeet Kaur, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the dignitaries, parents, staff members and students for their presence and contribution. She appreciated the dedicated efforts of the teachers and students in making the celebration meaningful and memorable.
The celebration served as a fitting tribute to the spirit of independent India and a reminder that freedom is not merely a legacy of the past, but a responsibility to create a stronger, safer and more united nation.

A Bond Beyond Borders: Rakshabandhan with Our Soldiers
SPS MV participated in the ‘Rakshabandhan – Bond of Love’ programme organised by HQ 261 Artillery Brigade at Deep Striker Brigade, Delhi Cantt, in collaboration with Pidilite Industries Ltd. on Saturday, 22 August 2026. Students of Class III to VIII made beautiful handmade Rakhis for soldiers posted in Ladakh, Kashmir and North East, which were collected for dispatch to border areas. Three girl students had the honour of tying Rakhis to Jawans, JCOs and Officers and received return gifts from the Brigade. It was a proud and memorable experience for all.

Independence Day Celebrations
SPS RN celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India with immense pride, patriotism and enthusiasm. The celebration brought together the school management, distinguished guests from Delhi Police, teachers and students to honour the nation’s freedom and reaffirm the values of courage, sacrifice, unity and responsibility.
The school was honoured to welcome Ms. Kiran Sethi, popularly known as the ‘Lady Singham’ of Delhi Police, and Shri Prashant Choudhary, Additional DCP, Central District, Delhi Police, along a team of other distinguished police officers. The National Flag was hoisted with due solemnity, followed by the rendition of the National Anthem.
Ms. Kiran Sethi, distinguished guest, addressed the gathering and emphasised the importance of discipline, courage and responsible citizenship. She inspired the students to uphold the values of unity, service and patriotism, and contribute positively to the nation’s progress.
Major General Sanjeev Shukla, VSM (Retd), School Director, addressed the gathering, emphasising the significance of freedom and the responsibility of every citizen. Students presented a soulful patriotic musical performance and a powerful Nukkad Natak, ‘Swatantrata Sangram Ke Ankahi Pehlu’, highlighting the lesser-known heroes of India’s freedom struggle. Mrs. Priyanka Barara, Principal, inspired students to become responsible and compassionate citizens.
Students were also felicitated for their achievements in various events. The celebration concluded with a vibrant dance performance, reflecting India’s rich heritage and aspirations for a stronger, Viksit Bharat, followed by spirited chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai! Jai Hind! Jai Bharat!”

SPS TDSC celebrated Independence Day with a patriotic fervour. The school director and principal hoisted the National Flag, followed by the National Anthem. The choir presented a soulful patriotic medley honouring India’s freedom fighters, while a vibrant dance portrayed the colours and values of the Tricolour. Rooted in the goal of nurturing responsible citizens, the celebration enabled students to understand the significance of freedom, appreciate the sacrifices of national heroes and strengthen their commitment to unity, duty and nation-building.
National Sports Day
SPS TDSC conducted a special assembly to celebrate National Sports Day with the theme ‘Play Fair and Play Strong’. The assembly highlighted the importance of sports, fitness, teamwork, discipline and sportsmanship.
The students shared inspiring thoughts about Major Dhyan Chand, whose birth anniversary is observed as National Sports Day on Tuesday, 29 August 2026. Through their presentations, they emphasised the values of fair play, respect for opponents, teamwork, perseverance and accepting both victory and defeat gracefully.
The assembly concluded with an inspiring message that a true champion is not simply one who wins, but one who plays fairly, gives their best and never gives up. Students were encouraged to embrace an active lifestyle and carry the true spirit of sports into their everyday lives.

Celebrating 80 Years of Freedom with Pride!
SMS GGM celebrated India’s 80th Independence Day with immense pride, joy and patriotic spirit. The young learners brought the celebrations to life through vibrant dance performances, a heartfelt skit, tricolour-themed art and craft activities and imaginative fireless cooking inspired by the colours of the national flag.
Each activity offered children an opportunity to learn, express, create and connect with the values that make the nation special- freedom, unity, creativity, respect, and togetherness.
Through these joyful experiences, young learners discovered the meaning of celebrating the spirit of the nation and the importance of carrying forward its values.
