Celebrating Innovation: ATL Community Day
ATL Community Day is dedicated to fostering creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills among students. Schools with Atal Tinkering Labs (ATLs) organize this event to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, a visionary jurist and social reformer.

On April 18th April, 2026, ATL Community Day was celebrated at our school. We invited non-ATL schools to participate, creating an inclusive environment for all students. The event focused on STEM-related activities aimed at nurturing students’ skills and their overall growth.
The program featured four interactive sessions:
Session 1: Students warmed up with an ice breaking activity involving the principle of static charge energy activity.
Session 2: Session by mentor on Cyber Crime and Cyber security focussing on key attacks and how to detect them.
Session 3: Participants engaged in the catapult designing activity involving use of daily life reusable materials.
Session 4: Students were tasked with creating paper circuit using copper tape.

Earth Day Celebration
Salwan Boys school enthusiastically celebrated Earth Day on 22 April 2026 with great zeal and a strong commitment towards environmental awareness and sustainability. The celebration aimed to sensitize students about the importance of protecting our planet and adopting eco-friendly practices in their daily lives.
The morning assembly was thoughtfully conducted by the students of Class VIII, who showcased their creativity and concern for the environment through a variety of presentations. The program began with impactful speeches in both Hindi and English, highlighting the urgent need to conserve natural resources and combat environmental challenges.
A thought-provoking Nukkad Natak (street play) was performed, conveying a powerful message about environmental degradation and the role of individuals in bringing about positive change. The students also presented an energetic rap song, spreading awareness in a modern and engaging manner, followed by a beautiful Hindi poem that emphasized the beauty of nature and the responsibility to preserve it.
A special Earth Day Pledge was administered during the assembly, where students and staff collectively promised to protect the environment, reduce waste, and adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives.
To further reinforce the message, a tree plantation drive was carried out within the school premises, encouraging students to actively contribute towards a greener and healthier environment.
The celebration was both educational and inspiring, leaving a lasting impression on all present and motivating everyone to work towards a cleaner and greener Earth.

DAY 1 – (18 April, 2026)
ITIHAAS Youth Heritage Leaders Journey – Celebrating Heritage in Action
In alignment with the spirit of World Heritage Day, students of Classes IX & XI of Salwan Public School Rajendra Nagar participated in the ITIHAAS Youth Heritage Leaders Internship (ITIHAAS), demonstrating a strong commitment to heritage awareness and preservation.
Shree Choudhary, Vidushi, Yana Singh, Ranya Kalra, Viraj Bali, Rashi Parcha, Jasneek Kaur, and Nimit Yadav (IX & XI) were selected for this prestigious programme and trained at the iconic Red Fort, where they experienced history beyond the classroom.
During the internship, students conducted heritage walks, interpreted the architectural and cultural legacy of the Mughal era, and honed their storytelling, leadership, and public speaking skills.
All eight students were appointed as Youth Heritage Leaders and Tour Guides. Notably, Viraj Bali and Jasneek Kaur were awarded the Certificate of Merit, by Yadubir Singh Rawat, representative from ITIHAAS.
This enriching experience reinforced the idea that heritage is a living continuum, inspiring students to become responsible custodians of India’s rich cultural legacy.
DAY 2 – 18 April, 2026
Heritage Day Celebration: Fostering Awareness and Responsibility
On the occasion of World Heritage Day (18 April 2026), the Social Science Department organised an engaging and insightful programme (list of events – discussion on heritage based on a PPT and a follow up activity, Madhubani workshop, visit to the National Museum) for students of Classes VI–VIII to promote awareness about India’s rich cultural and historical heritage.
The programme commenced with an informative PowerPoint presentation by Social Science teachers in their respective classes that introduced students to the concept of heritage, covering both tangible aspects such as monuments and temples, and intangible traditions like music, dance, and rituals. Students were apprised of India’s global recognition through 44 World Heritage properties listed by UNESCO, including renowned sites such as the Taj Mahal, Hampi, and the Sun Temple.
The presentation also highlighted India’s vibrant living traditions, including Garba, Durga Puja, Kumbh Mela, and Yoga, emphasising their role in strengthening community bonds. Students were sensitised to the importance of preserving heritage and the challenges posed by urbanization, pollution, and neglect. The session concluded with a pledge encouraging students to actively contribute towards heritage conservation.
To reinforce learning, students participated in two engaging activities. In the Digital Activity – Virtual Heritage Curators, they created digital one-pagers showcasing various heritage elements, integrating images, key facts, challenges, and conservation pledges. Their work was presented on the Smartboard, reflecting creativity and effective use of technology. In the Manual Activity – Heritage Detectives, students designed A3 one-page reports on local or regional heritage, analysing their significance, identifying threats, and suggesting practical measures for preservation.
The programme proved to be an enriching experience, enabling students to connect with India’s heritage meaningfully. It reinforced the understanding that heritage is not only about monuments but also about living traditions that shape our identity. The initiative successfully instilled a sense of responsibility among students to preserve and promote our shared cultural legacy.
DAY 3: 20.04.2026
Madhubani Painting Workshop – Celebrating Heritage Day
As part of the school’s World Heritage Day celebrations, the Social Science Department organised a Madhubani Painting Workshop to promote awareness of India’s rich cultural heritage through experiential learning.
The workshop was conducted by the resource person, Mr. Sujeet, an expert in Madhubani art (Bihar) who introduced students to the historical roots, traditional themes, and distinctive techniques of this renowned art form from Bihar. The session highlighted how indigenous art traditions form an integral part of India’s intangible cultural heritage.
A total of 98 students of Class VIII actively participated in the workshop. Through a hands-on approach, students explored the use of natural motifs, intricate patterns, and symbolic designs characteristic of Madhubani paintings. Guided by the expert, they created their own artworks, demonstrating creativity, enthusiasm, and a deeper appreciation for traditional art forms.
In keeping with the spirit of Heritage Day, the initiative also supported local artisans, as students purchased handcrafted items such as bookmarks and decorative hangings. As a follow-up activity, students will reflect on their learning experience in a class activity by writing reflections, further reinforcing their understanding of cultural preservation.
The workshop served as a meaningful platform to connect students with India’s artistic legacy, fostering cultural awareness, creativity, and respect for traditional craftsmanship.
Day 4: (23.04.20026 & 24.04.2026)
Educational Excursion to National Museum – Heritage Day Initiative
On the occasion of World Heritage Day, and as part of the school’s Kaushal Bodh Project, an educational excursion to the National Museum was organised for students of Class VI. The visit aimed to provide experiential learning and deepen students’ understanding of India’s rich cultural heritage.
More than 200 students participated in the excursion, which was conducted in two batches. During the visit, students explored a wide range of galleries showcasing artefacts from ancient civilisations, including sculptures, pottery, tools, manuscripts, and coins. By closely observing the exhibits and engaging with the informational displays, students were able to connect classroom learning with real historical evidence.
The excursion strongly complemented Class VI Social Science chapter, ‘The Beginning of Civilisation.’ Students related key concepts such as early human life, tools, art, and cultural practices to the artefacts displayed in the museum, thereby reinforcing their conceptual understanding through direct experience. The visit also encouraged curiosity, observation, and inquiry-based learning.
Overall, the excursion proved to be highly enriching, offering students an engaging platform to learn beyond the classroom. It successfully aligned with the spirit of Heritage Day by fostering awareness, appreciation, and respect for India’s cultural legacy, making learning both meaningful and memorable.

Baisakhi Bliss – Celebrating Joy, Culture & Togetherness

On 11th April 2026, the spirit of joy and togetherness filled Salwan Montessori School as we celebrated the vibrant festival of Baisakhi with great enthusiasm.
Our little stars lit up the stage with their energetic dance performance on a peppy Punjabi number, spreading smiles all around. A thoughtfully curated presentation helped children understand the significance of the festival, especially the foundation of the Khalsa Panth, making the celebration both fun and meaningful.
Adding to the festive fervour, our teachers delighted everyone with a lively Gidda performance, beautifully showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Punjab.
It was truly a day full of learning, laughter, and celebration, creating beautiful memories for our young learners.
Earth Day Celebration – Little Hands, Big Change

Salwan Montessori School celebrated World Earth Day on 22nd April 2026 with a special assembly aimed at creating awareness about protecting and preserving our planet. The celebration encouraged students to understand their role in caring for the environment and adopting responsible habits.
The assembly began with a meaningful story that highlighted the importance of saving water and using it wisely. Through this engaging presentation, children learned how small actions can make a big difference in conserving natural resources.
This was followed by a beautiful dance performance that conveyed the message of caring for the Earth and living in harmony with nature. Another segment of the assembly focused on the importance of keeping our surroundings clean and avoiding practices that pollute and harm the environment.
To further reinforce the message, students participated in an Earth Day art and craft activity where they creatively expressed their thoughts and understanding of environmental responsibility.
The celebration was both educational and inspiring, encouraging children to become more aware, responsible, and committed towards protecting the Earth for a better future.
Health Week Celebration – Healthy Habits, Happy Hearts
“Good health is the foundation of learning and happiness—healthy children grow into strong and confident individuals.”
Salwan Montessori School celebrated Health Week from 7th April 2026 to 11th April 2026 with the aim of helping students understand the importance of healthy living and good habits. The week was filled with meaningful activities that encouraged children to learn about balanced nutrition, personal hygiene, physical fitness, and overall well-being.
Special assemblies were conducted throughout the week where students learned to identify healthy and unhealthy food choices and understand the importance of maintaining a balanced diet in their daily lives.
Ms. Monica Agarwal interacted with the students and shared valuable insights on healthy eating habits. She explained how nutritious food helps the body grow stronger, improves concentration, and supports both physical and mental well-being, while too much junk food can have harmful effects on health.
To spread awareness about oral hygiene, Dr. Sanjay, a dentist, along with Ms. Heena Yadav, conducted an engaging session for the children. They explained the importance of brushing regularly, taking care of teeth, and maintaining good dental habits from an early age.
A yoga session was also organized for the students to highlight the importance of exercise, mindfulness, and staying physically active. The children participated enthusiastically and learned how yoga helps in keeping both the body and mind healthy.
Teachers also conducted classroom discussions and showed informative videos to further strengthen students’ understanding of healthy habits and hygiene practices.
Health Week was an enriching and enjoyable experience for everyone, inspiring students to make healthier choices and adopt positive habits in their everyday lives.

Grade-specific tasks included Brochure Making by Class VI to research renewable energy, and Badge Making by Class VII to promote sustainability slogans. Class VIII practiced circular economy principles by creating Planters from plastic bottles, while Class IX utilized Stone Painting and poster creation to advocate for ecological protection. World Heritage Day
Salwan Public School, TDSC, celebrated World Heritage Day through a series of creative engagements culminating on 18 April 2026. The three-day event featured hands-on workshops in traditional art forms, including Lippan, Madhubani, and Lino Cut printing. A special assembly highlighted conservation efforts through a thought-provoking mime act. Participation spanned all wings: Primary students showcased India’s diversity through traditional cuisine and attire, while Middle and Senior students engaged in poster making, comic strip creation, and digital presentations. Report on Baisakhi Celebration – Montessori Department
On Saturday, 11th April, the Nursery and Kindergarten classes of the Montessori Department celebrated the vibrant festival of Baisakhi with great joy and enthusiasm. The school campus was filled with happiness and vibrant colours as the little children arrived dressed in beautiful and colourful traditional Punjabi attire, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of Punjab. Their bright outfits added charm and liveliness to the celebration. The boys looked charming in their kurta-pyjamas and turbans, while the girls appeared delightful in colourful suits and parandas, adding a festive spirit to the celebration.
The celebration began with a short and engaging video that explained the significance of Baisakhi in a simple and child-friendly manner. The children learned that Baisakhi marks the harvest festival and is especially important in Punjab. The cheerful beats of the dhol created an energetic atmosphere, and the students happily clapped and danced along, expressing their excitement and energy.
To enhance their festive experience and make the day more interactive, the children participated in creative activities such as bubble printing and cotton dabbing, which enhanced their fine motor skills and artistic expression. The celebration became even more special as the children relished delicious sweets and shared joyful moments with their friends and teachers.
Overall, the event was a delightful and enriching experience that helped the young learners understand the cultural importance of Baisakhi while enjoying fun-filled activities and togetherness.

On 15th April, Class 3B presented a wonderful assembly to celebrate World Heritage Day. The students confidently spoke about the importance of heritage sites and why we must protect our monuments and culture. They also demonstrated good habits like not scribbling on walls and keeping historical places clean. The assembly encouraged all students to take pride in our rich heritage and help preserve it for future generations.
“Bright Smiles Begin with Healthy Habits!”
A dental health session was conducted on 16 April 2026 by Dr. Neha Saini from Illuminant Dental Clinic in association with Sharpener (Dental) Shine for Classes I and II. Students learned the importance of oral hygiene and ways to keep teeth clean. A fun quiz on healthy tooth was also taken up. Toothpaste samples and weekly hygiene charts were distributed. Students participated enthusiastically and pledged to maintain good dental care habits.

Graduation Ceremony of Class V
The Graduation Ceremony of Class V was conducted with great enthusiasm, emotional warmth, and a profound sense of accomplishment, marking a significant milestone in the students’ academic journey, from the past seven years at SJS.
The ceremony commenced with a gracious welcome of the parents and students, followed by heartfelt greetings, acknowledging the invaluable support of parents and celebrating the achievements of the young graduates.
The programme progressed with the ceremonial lamp lighting, symbolizing the dispelling of ignorance and the ushering in of knowledge and wisdom. The atmosphere was further elevated by a soulful Ram Bhajan presented by the Senior School choir, which created a serene and spiritually uplifting ambience. Furthermore, the school Principal, Ms. Sonia Wadhwa delivered an insightful and motivating welcome address. The event featured a lively skit with parents acting as children choosing fruits over junk food, two melodious songs on nutrition, and a thoughtful story highlighting food wastage and balanced meals. Students learned to value every bite and adopt healthy routines.
Disconnect to Connect: A Celebration of Little Hearts
Salwan Junior School celebrated its Kindergarten Annual Day on 28 February 2026 with great joy and enthusiasm. The event showcased the confidence, creativity, and talent of the young Salwanians. The theme, “DTOC – Disconnect to Connect,” conveyed the importance of balancing technology with meaningful human relationships.
The programme began with a warm welcome by the emcee, followed by the ceremonial lamp lighting. The opening dance, “Namoh Namah,” created a serene and spiritual atmosphere for the celebration. The school was honoured to have Mr. Gaurav Manaktala, an esteemed alumnus of the school and currently Strategy Lead – MD & CEO Office at Hero FinCorp, as the Chief Guest. Deeply connected with theatre and the performing arts, he has also worked in the film Major, which is available on Netflix. Director Colonel Sameer Saluja, RWA members Mrs. Manju and Mr. Mansukhani also graced the occasion.
The Annual Report of the school was presented by the Head Girl, Sristee Chadha, and Vice Head Girl, Shatakshi Vishal, who shared the achievements, milestones, and vibrant activities of the school throughout the year.
The melodious Kindergarten Choir performance filled the auditorium with positivity. The central skit, “Disconnect to Connect,” creatively depicted how excessive screen time affects family bonds. Through engaging characters and a touching poem, students delivered a meaningful message about valuing real-life connections.

Salwan Junior School celebrated the Nursery Annual Day on 14th March 2026 with immense joy, enthusiasm, and vibrant participation by the little stars. The theme for the presentation, “The Magic of Love and Learning,” beautifully portrayed the two most important spaces in a child’s life—School and Home, highlighting the magic is created through love, care, and togetherness.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome by the emcees, followed by the ceremonial lamp lighting and the singing of song “Oh! My friend Ganesha” by the choir group settled a cheerful tone for the morning. The school was honoured to have Ms. Shreya Babbar an esteemed alumnus of the school as the Chief Guest. Chairman Shri Michael Dias and Director Colonel Sameer Saluja also graced the occasion.
The Annual Report of the school was presented by Head Girl, Sristee Chadha, and Vice Head Girl, Shatakshi Vishal, who shared the achievements, milestones and vibrant activities of the school throughout the year.

The transition to the second magic world—Home—brought forth a touching reality. Through expressive performances, the children depicted how, despite having all comforts and gadgets, the true magic of home lies in spending quality time with family. The impactful presentation, supported by a graceful performance on “Jab Life Ho Out of Control” and a heartwarming moment with grandparents, conveyed a strong emotional message.
These soulful performances further touched the hearts of the audience, as children expressed their simple yet profound wish—to have their parents’ time and attention rather than material gifts.
The final segment beautifully conveyed the message that the real magic lies in love, bonding, and togetherness. Parents were seen deeply moved as children expressed their feelings and the importance of meaningful connections in today’s fast-paced, gadget-driven world.
The programme concluded with a mesmerizing grand finale on energetic dance on “Love You Zindagi”. The presentation ended on a heartfelt note, leaving the audience inspired and emotional.
The Nursery Annual Day was truly a grand success, showcasing the confidence, talent, and innocence of the young learners.
