Report of Logo Reveal Ceremony and Follow-Up Activities at SJS
Salwan Junior School, Naraina, proudly organized a two-day event to celebrate the unveiling of its new logo, marking a significant step in reinforcing its identity and values. The event was thoughtfully designed to blend spiritual, cultural, and educational elements, followed by structured classroom and co-curricular activities to ensure student engagement and understanding.
The first day of the session began with the Hawan ceremony to invoke divine blessings for the school’s continued growth and success. The ceremony created a serene and positive environment for the commencement of the new academic session. It started with the soulful rendition of “Ram aayenge,’ followed by the holy Hawan, where every word and meaning was explained. The grand reveal of the school logo with enhanced ethics, a new look, but the same ethos, was revealed by Col. Sameer Saluja, Director of the school, along with the special guests from Salwan Education Trust and Mrs. Sonia Wadhwa, the school Principal.
The student representatives who attended the Hawan from all classes were mesmerised by the look and reveal. Later, Mrs. Wadhwa introduced the logo to the gathering and shared the thought process behind the new look and the tag line, “Nurturing Creativity, Curiosity and Compassion.” The unveiling marked an important milestone, introducing a refreshed visual identity that reflects the school’s vision, values, and commitment to excellence.
After the reveal, students attempted the follow-up worksheets about the same. Every class had a unique activity designed as per the age level, to help them observe and become familiar with the new logo.
- Montessori Classes:
Circle Time discussions were conducted using visual aids and flashcards to explain the logo. Students also completed a “Colour the Sun” and “Count the Rays” worksheet. - Class I: Logo familiarization worksheets were conducted to introduce students to the design elements, where they were asked to observe and answer. This was followed by reflecting on the meaning of the logo in their own life.
- Classes II & III:
Students engaged in “Spot the Difference” worksheets to enhance observation skills related to the logo, followed by Reflective writing activities on the theme: “What does Service Before Self mean to you?”
- Classes IV & V:
Reflective writing activities were conducted to encourage students to express their initial understanding and thoughts about the logo, specifically about the new tag line. This was succeeded with a collaborative group project where each class recreated the school logo on boards or charts. - To reinforce learning, various co-curricular departments conducted theme-based activities.
The logo reveal ceremony and its structured follow-up activities were executed successfully, ensuring active participation across all classes. The initiative effectively helped students not only recognize the new logo but also understand and connect with the school’s core value, “Service Before Self.”

Learning Unplugged through Educational Trip
A Heritage Walk at Bharat Darshan Park
On 7 March 2026, the students of Class V participated in a Heritage Walk at Bharat Darshan Park. The activity reflected the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 by promoting experiential and holistic learning beyond the classroom.
During the walk, students explored replicas of famous Indian monuments and learned about the country’s rich cultural heritage. The experience helped them connect classroom knowledge with real-life observation in an engaging manner.
The Heritage Walk fostered curiosity, observation, and appreciation for India’s diversity, while also developing essential skills such as critical thinking and awareness, in line with NEP 2020.
A visit to National Rail Museum
The educational visit for Class IV was conducted on Thursday, 19 March 2026, at National Rail Museum. The visit provided students with an enriching opportunity to explore the history and development of Indian Railways.
Students explored vintage locomotives, royal coaches, railway models and interactive exhibits, gaining insights into India’s transport heritage and technological progress. The experience also helped them understand the important role of railways in connecting the nation.
Overall, the visit was informative and engaging, enhancing students’ knowledge through real-life learning experiences.
A Trip to Humayun’s Tomb
On 16 March 2026, Class VI students visited Humayun’s Tomb as part of an educational excursion. The visit encouraged learning beyond the classroom through real-life experiences.
Students explored the beauty of Mughal architecture and gained a deeper understanding of the monument’s historical and cultural importance. The experience helped them relate classroom learning to practical observation.
The excursion sparked curiosity, enhanced observation skills and fostered an appreciation for heritage, while supporting the development of key competencies highlighted in NEP 2020.
Beyond Books: A Scientific Exploration
An educational visit to the National Science Centre was organized for the students of Class VII-VIII on 17 March 2026. The visit aimed to provide experiential learning beyond the classroom and to nurture scientific curiosity among students.
During the visit, students explored a wide range of interactive exhibits related to physics, human biology, space science, and environmental studies. The hands-on displays allowed them to understand complex scientific concepts. Orientation Programme 2026–27: A Warm Beginning to the Academic Journey
The Orientation Programme for the academic session 2026–27 was conducted on March 19, 2026 in the school auditorium for the parents of Montessori, in two sessions, and on March 20, 2026, for the parents of Classes I to IX and Class XI, respectively. The programme on both days aimed to welcome parents and students while familiarising them with the school’s vision, systems, and learning environment. On March 19, 2026, two engaging sessions were organised for Montessori I, II, and III parents. The programme started with a welcoming note by the Coordinator of Foundational Years, Ms Shivani Arora, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. The recitation of shlokas and a graceful invocation dance created a serene and auspicious ambience.
The Junior Student Council presented an overview of the school system, offering valuable insights into academic practices and school life. Students of Grades III and IV shared their experiences, giving parents a glimpse into their learning journey and overall growth. On March 20, 2026, the Orientation Programme was conducted for the parents of Classes I–IX & XI, continuing with the same spirit of engagement and interaction.
The School Principal, Ms.Rashmi Malik, addressed the gathering, highlighting the school’s values, expectations, commitment to holistic development and the collaborative role of parents and teachers in a child’s education. Both sessions concluded with a Vote of Thanks by the Headmistress, Ms. Neetu Katyal. Orientation Session for Class X: Setting the Path for Board Success
On 16 March 2026, the Principal Ma’am, Ms Rashmi Malik conducted an orientation session for Class X students to guide and motivate them for the board year. She emphasized the importance of the right mindset, self-discipline, and academic planning.

Students were advised to avoid distractions, maintain discipline, follow a healthy routine, and begin early preparation by collecting study material and reviewing the syllabus.
Session on Introduction of Third Language
An orientation session was conducted on 6th March in the Block D Basement for the students of Grade V to introduce the third language options for Grade VI. The session aimed to help students understand the significance of learning a foreign language and guide them in making an informed choice.
The languages offered for selection were German, Japanese and French. The session was conducted by the respective language trainers—Ms. Pragati Pant (German), Ms. Charu Gupta (French) and Ms. Surbhi (Japanese). Each trainer highlighted the importance, cultural relevance and advantages of learning their respective language, emphasizing how it can broaden students’ global perspective and open new academic and career opportunities.
The informative session provided students with valuable insights into the features and benefits of each language, enabling them to make a thoughtful and confident decision regarding their language choice in Grade VI.

The day featured a diverse array of activities, including the Zip Line, Commando Net, Burma Bridge, Mowgli Walk, and Tug of War. These tasks were meticulously designed to enhance motor skills and problem-solving abilities in a safe environment. The camp concluded as a resounding success, successfully boosting the students’ self-esteem and reinforcing the school’s commitment to holistic development.
Communicable Disease Control & Dastak Campaign
Throughout the month of April 2026, the school executed a series of activities under the Special Communicable Disease Control and Dastak Campaign. On 1st and 2nd April, students from Classes XI and XII participated in a health pledge focused on preventing vector-borne diseases. From 3rd to 5th April, students from Classes VI to VIII designed informative posters on disease prevention. This was followed by a demonstration session from 6th to 8th April for students in Classes III to V, covering hand washing and water chlorination. On 18th April 2026, a workshop on “Self-Hygiene, Health, and Safety” was conducted for students of Grades I to V. The resource person, Dr. Hasibullah, explained essential concepts like proper handwashing, dental care, and the importance of a nutritious diet.
