Dr. Kalam's Mighty Minds Innovation Program 2024
Vidip Kedia of class VII at SPS MV cleared Round I of Dr. Kalam’s Mighty Minds Innovation Program (MMIP) 2024. The talented participant will step into the much-anticipated Round 2, which promises an engaging and innovative experience.
Round 2 has two parts:
- AI-Powered Bot Interview: Students interact with an AI bot to showcase skills. Open till 25 December 2024.
- Innovation Round: Students transform curiosity into creativity under the theme ‘Cuteness to Creativity’.

Achievement-16th Delhi State Scrabble Championship 2024
Aishwarya S. Rathore of class XI participated in the 16th Delhi State Scrabble Championship 2024, held at Saplings International School, Paschim Vihar, New Delhi on Saturday, 21 December 2024. She secured the ‘Best Female Player’ Award in the Class IX-XII category.

Achievement-Aryabhata Ganit Challenge (AGC)
Students of SPS MV participated in ‘The Aryabhata Ganit Challenge’ (AGC) conducted by CBSE. Out of the three shortlisted students from the school who appeared for Level II exam, Mohd Saad and Nirvani Sharma of Class X have been placed among the top 100 students from the DELHI EAST region.

Achievement-CBSE Science Challenge
Krishiv Gupta, student of class VIII at SPS MV was awarded a certificate for his outstanding performance in the final stage of CBSE Science Challenge 2024-25.

Delhi State Table Tennis Championship 2024
Daksh Kumar of Class X-A, representing Shahdara district, secured the Third Position at the Delhi State & Inter-district Table Tennis Team Championship-2024. Along with his team, he won two Bronze medals in the U-17 and U-19 categories. The championship was held at Bosco Public School, Paschim Vihar, Delhi from Wednesday, 25 December 2024 to Sunday, 29 December 2024.

Excellence in Education Award
Capt Richa Sharma Katyal (Retd), Principal, SPS MV, was awarded the ‘Excellence in Education Award’ on 22 December 2024, at IIT Delhi. This prestigious award recognises her dedication and remarkable contributions to innovation in education, which have greatly enriched the school’s learning environment.

Junior Delhi State Volleyball Championship
The U-17 Girls Junior Volleyball team at SPS MV secured 2nd Runners-up Position in Junior Delhi State Volleyball Championship, held at Laxmi Public school, Karkardooma, Delhi, from 13 December 2024 to 15 December 2024. The team also received a cash prize of Rs. 2100/-.

Mini Delhi State Volleyball Championship
The U-14 Girls’ team at SPS MV secured 2nd Runners-up position in Mini Delhi State Volleyball Championship held at Soami Model School, Soami Nagar North Delhi from Wednesday, 04 to Friday, 06 December 2024.

मेधावी छात्र एवं शिक्षक सम्मान समारोह
शैक्षणिक सत्र 2023-2024 की सी बी एस ई परीक्षा में हिंदी भाषा में 90% और अधिक अंक प्राप्त करने वाले छात्रों को सम्मानित करने हेतु ‘ हिन्दुस्तानी भाषा अकादमी ’ द्वारा दिनांक 11 दिसंबर , 2024 को डॉ अंबेडकर इंटरनेशनल सेंटर में ‘मेधावी छात्र एवं शिक्षक सम्मान समारोह’ का आयोजन किया गया ।
सलवान पब्लिक स्कूल, मयूर विहार के 23 छात्रों को ‘ भाषा दूत’ सम्मान एवं उनकी अध्यापिकाओं – श्रीमती मीनाक्षी अरोड़ा एवं श्रीमती शशि खरबंदा ( अवकाश गत) को उक्त समारोह में प्रमाण पत्र एवं सम्मान चिह्न द्वारा सम्मानित किया गया ।

CBSE Heritage Quiz
The second round of CBSE Heritage Quiz was conducted at Amity International School, Pushp Vihar, Delhi on Thursday, 12 December 2024. Around forty-six CBSE schools from across the globe participated in the event. Three students of classes X and XI from SPS MV participated in the competition. Although the students could not qualify for the next round, it was a great opportunity for them as it helped them develop their analytical, creative, problem-solving, communication and confidence-building skills.

Cyber Security Workshop
A Cyber Security Workshop, conducted by Shri H.S. Randhawa, ACP, Delhi Police, Cyber Crime Unit and Smt. Karuna Bala, Inspector Cyber Crime, was held at SPS MV for Classes IX and X on Tuesday, 17 December 2024.
The session covered key topics such as creating secure passwords, safeguarding personal information, identifying phishing attacks and using social media safely. Shri Randhawa highlighted real-life cybercrime examples and shared preventive measures. Question and Answer session at the end addressed students’ queries. Cyber Warrior Certificates were awarded to students demonstrating strong cyber safety knowledge. The event concluded with a fun song by Smt. Karuna Bala, making the session memorable.

Disaster Management Awareness Programme
On Friday, 06 December 2024, a Disaster Management Awareness Programme was conducted at SPS MV, to promote awareness about the significance of disaster preparedness and safety among students. The programme aimed to educate students on various types of disasters, emergency rescue procedures, and the importance of understanding emergency symbols. Activities included creative and interactive sessions such as poster-making, worksheet-solving, slogan-writing, and collage making. These activities were designed to help students visualise and comprehend the need for effective disaster management, highlighting the importance of being prepared in case of any disaster.
IIT Bombay Techfest
Sh. Ashish Kumar, TGT Art, at SPS MV along with two students, had the privilege of participating in IIT Bombay’s Techfest in Mumbai from Monday, 16 December 2024 to Friday, 20 December 2024. Techfest, the annual science and technology festival of IIT Bombay which is known for its wide-ranging social initiatives, outreach programs, competitions, lectures, workshops, and exhibitions, has become a hallmark feature of the event over the years. This year’s Techfest showcased entrepreneurial initiatives and featured captivating performances by a bubble artist, a laser harpist, an electric violinist from Spain and an Italian artist. The competitions spanned diverse domains such as Artificial Intelligence, ‘Mesmerize’, ‘Koii Hack-Innovate & Build (ICI)’, and much more. The workshops were another highlight, covering topics like Android Development, Prompt Engineering, Equity Research, and Ethical Hacking. The exhibitions served as an ideal platform to bridge the gap between advanced technologies and the common people.

National Mathematics Day
On Saturday, 21 December 2024, National Mathematics Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at SPS MV. Students of Class III and IV participated in a storytelling event that incorporated mathematical concepts like multiplication and fractions. Class V students debated topics such as ‘Should 0 be considered a number?’ and ‘The importance of even and odd numbers’. For Classes VI to VIII, a written quiz led to a grand finale, with Vivekanand House emerging victorious in the Inter-House Mental Maths competition. Classes IX and XI showcased their creativity by designing newsletters based on mathematical concepts, with Gandhi House winning the ‘Best Newsletter Award’. Students from the Vedic Maths and Abacus clubs also demonstrated their unique skills, enriching the event. The day concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, and a vote of thanks by Headmistress Smt. Sheetal Kapoor, making it an unforgettable celebration of mathematical learning and creativity.

Nature Walk (Kamla Nehru Biodiversity Park)
On Saturday, 14 December 2024, ‘Kids for Tigers’ organised a rejuvenating nature walk at Kamla Nehru Biodiversity Park on the Kamla Nehru Ridge, Civil Lines. Five students and a teacher from SPS MV joined participants from 14 other schools. The walk aimed to create awareness about biodiversity and importance of flora in daily life. Resource person Mr. Neeraj Mitra, Coordinator- ‘Kids for Tiger’, Delhi zone guided the students, showcasing resident and invasive plant species. They shared knowledge about the uses of plants like Vajradanti, Babool, Giloy, and Amaltas. Students observed the butterfly conservatory and were thrilled at the abundance of monkeys in the park.
The walk provided an enriching experience for the participants, deepening their appreciation for nature. All students received participation certificates as recognition of their involvement in this eco-awareness initiative. The event successfully blended learning with exploration, leaving students inspired to value and protect the environment.

Recognition of an International Dimension in Schools Programme (Rids) Science Event
On Wednesday, 18 December 2024, the Science Department at SPS MV organised- Recognition of an International Dimension in Schools Programme (RIDS) Science event on ‘Wastewater Management’ in the school premises to promote sustainable water practices. Capt Richa Sharma Katyal (Retd), Principal SPS MV delivered an insightful welcome address, emphasising the importance of the event. Highlights included a documentary, poem recitation, and a lively Nukkad Natak on water conservation. A presentation, River Beyond Borders, and a Gallery Walk showcasing innovative projects captivated attendees. The program concluded with a feedback session, emphasising collective responsibility. The successful event reflected students’ and staff’s commitment to environmental stewardship and inspired participants to take meaningful action.

The Recognition of an International Dimension in Schools Programme (RIDS)-EUPHORIA

Regional Level Science Exhibition
CBSE Regional Science Exhibition 2024-2025, hosted by ASN Senior Secondary School, Delhi, brought together young innovators from over 70 schools under the theme ‘Science and Technology for a Sustainable Future’. The two-day event showcased creative solutions to global challenges, with projects focussing on several themes. The event concluded on Tuesday, 03 December 2024. Students of SPS MV participated in both senior and junior categories under the themes ‘Resource Management’ and ‘Mathematical and Computational Thinking’. SPS MV team mentored by Smt. A. Romita Devi, TGT Science, was one of the three winning teams under junior category. ASN Senior Secondary School, Delhi, the host school, won the award. It was a great exposure for the students as they saw the different models and interacted with students and judges.

Samvaad with Education Fraternity
On Friday, December 20, 2024, Delhi Lieutenant Governor (LG) Vinai Kumar Saxena held a Samvaad interaction at Raj Niwas with principals and teachers to address pressing education sector challenges.
Moderated by Ms. Ameeta Mulla Wattal, Principal, Springdales School, Pusa Road, New Delhi, discussions covered NEP 2020 implementation, student safety, mental health, and infrastructure issues. Shri Sushil Dutt Salwan, Chairman of Salwan Education Trust, highlighted policy-related challenges faced by private schools. Teachers raised concerns about cyberbullying and hoax threats. LG Saxena urged enhanced teacher-student counselling and announced specialised training programs on cybercrime and safety. Seven educators from SPS MV, including the Principal, Capt Richa Sharma Katyal (Retd), and Headmistress, Smt. Sheetal Kapoor, had the privilege of participating in this impactful discussion.

Self-Defence Training Programme
SPS MV organised a ten-day self-defence training programme for girl students of classes VI-VIII from Tuesday, 17 December 2024 to Friday, 27 December 2024. The programme focused on equipping students with essential techniques like blocking, evading, and countering threats, along with situational awareness and emergency response strategies.
Professional trainers led interactive sessions, and the girls participated enthusiastically, showcasing great dedication to learning. The programme concluded with a demonstration session where participants displayed their newly acquired skills, followed by the distribution of certificates. This initiative was widely appreciated by teachers and parents for empowering young girls with confidence and self-reliance.

Visit to Lohagarh Farm, Haryana

कला उत्सव’ कार्यक्रम
शिक्षा निदेशालय द्वारा जिला स्तर पर ‘कला उत्सव’ कार्यक्रम में हिंदी भाषा संबद्ध ‘ कहानी वाचन’ प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन दिनांक 05 दिसंबर, 2024 को एस के वी विद्यालय, त्रिलोकपुरी में किया गया।
सलवान पब्लिक स्कूल , मयूर विहार से कक्षा नवीं की छात्रा कुमारी शिविका प्रताप सिंह द्वारा संगीत के सम्मिश्रण सहित कथित प्रतियोगिता में अपनी भूमिका बखूबी निभाई गई ।

भाषा उत्सव
छात्रों की बहुमुखी प्रतिभाओं के संवर्धन हेतु सीबीएसई द्वारा ‘भाषा उत्सव’ का आयोजन 09 दिसंबर से 11 दिसंबर 2024 तक कक्षा तीसरी से नवीं तक के विद्यार्थियों के लिए आयोजित किया गया। इस गतिविधि में कहानी वाचन, कविता वाचन, एवं अभिवादन शब्दों को विभिन्न भारतीय भाषाओं में लिखने की गतिविधियां सम्मिलित थीं। इन गतिविधियों का मुख्य उद्देश्य विद्यार्थियों को भारतीय संस्कृति एवं भाषाओं के ज्ञान का बोध कराना, आत्मविश्वास को बढ़ाना, उनकी विशिष्ट क्षमताओं को पहचानना तथा उनके समग्र विकास में योगदान देना था। विभिन्न स्तरों पर आयोजित इन गतिविधियों में छात्रों ने पूरे उत्साह और लगन के साथ भाग लिया। इससे उनकी सृजनात्मकता को बढ़ावा मिला और उन्हें अपने व्यक्तित्व को स्वतंत्र रूप से अभिव्यक्त करने का अवसर प्राप्त हुआ।
